view overlooking the Galley Head and Red Strand, the three bedroom
house is a
two minute walk from the safe, sandy beach and a short drive from the
many others that dot the coastline.This beautiful area, renowned for its spectacular scenery, sandy
beaches and tranquil beauty, has many local amenities including golf
courses, tennis courts, horseback riding, water sports, leisure
centers and, of course, fishing in the Atlantic. Clonakilty, the
Gateway of West Cork, is a vibrant town redolent of tradition yet a
buzz with life where you can find an abundance of music and
entertainment options. The area has a great selection of pubs and top
class restaurants to add to the recreational possibilities.
The cottage has been renovated and
decorated with loving care to retain its original character.
 It has three
bedrooms - one double, one with twin beds and a large downstairs
bedroom with three twin beds. There is also a single futon so it can
sleep a total of 8 people. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and
one down.
The expansive windows give spectacular sea views and the open plan
allows light to filter throughout the house. The modern kitchen is
equipped with a microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
The living room has a fireplace complete with the original fire
machine and a wonderful bay window overlooking the strand.

Thanks to the angular design, there is always a sheltered spot, on
the patio or in the beautiful garden, to sit or barbecue or sunbathe,
depending on the season!
The Cottage is less than an hour’s drive from Cork airport and just
over two hours from Shannon airport. It is a scenic drive from many
major tourist areas such as Kinsale, Baltimore, Glandore and
Killarney.
Some comments from friends who have stayed at the Cottage
Dunowen cottage rents from US$650 to US$895 a week. These prices
include heat and hot water. Weekly rentals go from Saturday to
Saturday and a 25% deposit is required to book dates. Weekend and long
